As our co-founder, the education experts at the University of Helsinki are an integral part of our daily working team. Together, we constantly strive to research, plan, and innovate for the successful implementation of the Finnish early education system. The pedagogy and curriculum are designed to provide purposeful play, nurture with guidance from highly qualified teachers, and offer opportunities for children to adopt learning as a natural process shaped by their interests. Only then can learning happen everywhere and at all times.
The pedagogy and curriculum at HEI Schools have been rigorously tested for decades with outstanding results. We combine the best and latest learning philosophies, models, and practices to meet the highest standards in education. At HEI Schools, we adapt to a holistic approach with an emphasis on a child’s perspective, without compromising academic results.

A CHILD’S FIRST 7 YEARS ARE THE MAGICAL YEARS
90% of a child’s brain development occurs during the first 7 years. This is a crucial time, as a child’s physical and mental health are defined and developed during this period.
HEI Schools Yangon is fully aware of the lasting impact that early childhood education has on shaping a child’s future.
Therefore, we are committed to providing only the best and proven education and care experiences for children, ensuring good health, positive personality development, and a foundation for lifelong learning.

The HEI Schools Curriculum Framework provides a comprehensive guide for early childhood education based on Finnish pedagogical principles. It prioritizes the holistic development of children from 18 months to 6 years old, emphasizing that childhood has intrinsic value beyond mere school preparation. The curriculum is organized into four major learning areas—Forms of Expression, Interacting with the World, Understanding the World, and Healthy Living—which are supported by transversal skills like critical thinking and cultural competence. Play-based learning and active participation serve as the primary methods for instruction, ensuring children develop autonomy and a sense of responsibility. Additionally, the framework includes detailed learning objectives, sample lesson plans, and a robust system for parental partnership through individual learning plans and portfolios. Educational success is measured through systematic observation and documentation, focusing on each child’s unique strengths and developmental journey.
